Hi folks. I have been using Ubuntu for several years and have read a lot of posts, but this is my first post to the forum. I just upgraded to 10.04 from 9.10 and everything seemed to go fine at first. But then I found two things went wrong. First, the close, maximize and minimize buttons that are supposed to be on open windows have all vanished. I did a bit of research and found that those buttons can be controlled by opening gconf-editor and going to Metacity. I looked at button_layout and it seems right. "menu:maximize, minimize, close." But no buttons actually appear on any window that I opened. Second, I cannot grab the windows with my mouse and move them around in the usual way. Perhaps these two problems are linked? I am dual booting Ubuntu and XP on an Dell Dimension 4550 desktop. Ubuntu has previously always worked flawlessly on this machine. Help will be much appreciated. Thanks. Confused
