At my job our computers are configured to log into the server here to connect to the internet. I installed ubuntu using wubi and when I log into ubuntu I can't connect to the internet. I tried setting the ip manually that my windows uses but still not connecting. So obviously I need to log into the server but how? Please help. thanks. Ah and another thing I went to networks and it wont even see the server or anything. Help. thanks.

You should talk with the information technology support people at your company. They are probably using some kind of network access control. (I'm assuming you know your system to be functioning normally in other network contexts.)

I suggest you first rehearse your explanation of how using Linux is essential to your work.
