Is it possible to upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope to Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx without upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala? When I go to my "Update Manager" I only see the upgrade button for 9.10 but there's no upgrade to 10.04. An immediate response is highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

No. Upgrades are only available between LTS versions (8.04 > 10.04) or from the immediate predecessor.

You have the choice of upgrading to 9.10 and then 10.04 or doing a clean install of 10.04.

i also have similar question .. but unlike OP my update manager is showing 10.04.3 LTS as the next availabale version.. wheareas i am currently running 9.04 .. and i have upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04...?
what should i do ? should i upgrade ? how long will it take on a 1ghz pIII wiht 512 MB 133 Mhz buss speed..?
clean install is not an option for me due to several unavoidable situations..

and also latest ubuntu is a big no no for me.. i hate that unity thingy ... and all the other boooolsheeet...

If a post is older than a year or so and hasn't had a new reply in that time, instead of replying to it, create a new thread. In the software world, a lot can change in a very short time, and doing things this way makes it more likely that you will find the best information. You may link to the original discussion in the new thread if you think it may be helpful.
