I am running ubuntu 5.10 on an AMD64. I installed Easy Ubuntu by running the first set of console code on the Easy Ubuntu page (http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org/get.html). First I tried ticking the box for everything in Easy Ubuntu, but that resulted in an error message and a dialog box asking to reconfigure the x server. Then I tried ticking every option except for the ATI 3d driver, and it all downloaded and installed fine. Except there was variations of this message on the console many times:

(synaptic:8166): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_accel_label_set_accel_closure: assertion `gtk_accel_group_from_accel_closure (accel_closure) != NULL' failed

For good measure, I restarted my computer. Some of the things have installed (firefox icon, numlock, mp3 support), while others are not (firefox plugins not installed, I can't see Skype or any of the other new programs on the applications menu). What did I do wrong?

p.s. I needed to enable the universe repository before I could install EasyUbuntu, is this normal?

skype and a few other programs are not supported as they are not available yet. Work is being done to make this more obvious.

no, EU does it on it's own.

Thanks for the info. I guess I can do without Skype for now anyway.

I figure the reason why the firefox plugins didn't install was because the install process is different on AMD64s for some reason. In case anyone else is having the same problem, here are instructions (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FirefoxAMD64FlashJava) on how to get the plugins working on x64s (which worked for me).
