Yes, it's a great game...
Your poll is a little vague though - Perhaps the title should have been "Have you played Battle for Wesnoth?", as I played it a ton in the summer but don't really play it anymore.

Er... similar to Warcraft 3? Are you smoking something? Aside from the fantasy setting, the game bears no similarity whatsoever. Turn-based vs RTS, 2d vs 3d, capture- vs build-based economies. In fact, name an aspect, other than setting (or something that applies to most games like 2 teams competing) that links the two!!!???

It's easy to see the similarities between these two games, but I do agree that it isn't the best comparison. I better comparison would be this game to Warcraft II.
Although I haven't been able to play this game lately since my current computer is an older model laptop from work, I did play this game for a couple of months on my older computer and had a great time. The game has a competitive multiplayer portion built in, and the single player game can be very challenging. This game has my vote for one of the best native games available on Linux.

Wesnoth is very different from the Warcraft series. Actually I don't see any resemblance besides the fantasy setting, as someone mentioned. If you want a good comparison, Wesnoth is very similar to the old General series of games - particularly Panzer General.
That is not to say I don't like the game. Warcraft 2 is my all-time favorite RTS, and Panzer General is my all-time favorite tactical game. Wesnoth ranks slightly below Panzer General :)
And if you don't know what Panzer General is, shame on you. It's like not knowing Ultima if you are a RPG fan.
Ahh, the old days when gameplay was indeed fun and developers spent less (if any) time pumping out graphics with little behind them...

Great game, I play it now and then. Heard of Panzer General, never played it though, so I'll offer my own comparison :). Anywone who's played the Heroes of Might and Magic series will find it very familiar, it's like playing both the strategic (daily) part of it and the tactical (combat) parts of it at the same time. Though I've done much better in HoMM than BfW, it doesn't allow you to make a whole lot of tactical mistakes (and I refuse to play in easy ;p)

EDIT
Under dapper it doesn't start and freezes my system with a black screen though.
EDIT2
Not true.. running with alt+F2 made caused this, but running it from the k-menu it does work. I am sorry for the spreaded negativity.
