My boot-up splash screen logo one day disappeared entirely. Now I get the tty output from all the startup scripts. I do not want to see that. I do not need to know about the startup unless there is a problem. In fact, it kind of worries me when I see it.

I want my stock Ubuntu 10.04 splash screen back. Splashy will not install.

The following NEW packages will be installed:
splashy

Need to get 0B/1,182kB of archives.

What do I need to do? I've been searching high and low for the solution?
