trouble downloading broadcom 4318 driver?

well i'm trying to set up a wireless connection for my laptop but can't seem to get the driver for my wireless card. when i got to the propertairy driver installer, it finds my hardware and says that it's downloading the driver, but never downloads anything at all.
I tried a sude command to download the driver, and it works, but then prompts me to install the 9.10 karmic koala disc, but after i do so, it says to insert it, even though its already in. how can i get the broadcom driver?

You do know that you need a wired connection to download the driver right?
