Some strange graphics running warhammer 40k under wine

I am trying to run Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade user wine on my ubuntu 10.04 box. Although the game runs fine the graphics are rather odd. Got loads of rainbow colours on the landscape and some odd distortion at the bottom of the screen.

Should mention that the building and robot are ment to be purple, the rest of it is a bit odd tho. It does the exact same on my laptop (also running ubuntu 10.04).

I am using wine version 1.1.42

Well for starters i've video hardware/drive related.
You might want to post more detailed info on your system.

Have you checked the appdb for similar issues/fixes?

I run it on my laptop, reasonably low spec.

Intel Pentium Dual core
2Gb RAM
onboard intel G945 graphics

the graphics drivers as far as i'm aware are up to date and I update my system regularly.

Yes i checked the appdb but it's a platinum rated piece of software (as far as i can remember but it's at least gold anyway) and I couldn't find any similar issues. Just seemed to work out the box for everyone else.

yeah double checked with the patch install (which is on my system) it is rated platinum and no other users have reported any similar issues.

Intel "video" hardware and drivers are notoriously bad (more like hit and miss) on linux.
It's entirely possible you may never be able to run this game via wine until you get a real video card.

Heya mate, I run this computer fine on my computer, runs brilliantly, So I thought i'd give it a go on my laptop..And the outcome was the same as what your getting, So its definitely spec's related
