hi Ubuntu'ers.

I'm a die hard Fedora fan, since the days of Fedora Core 6.

Yesterday I was asked to fix a PC for a friend, so I did the natural thing, by installing Linux. I chose to install Ubuntu 10.04, because I read time and time again about Ubuntu's user friendly feel, and also because I wanted to have a look myself at the advances in the Ubuntu experience (the last install I'd seen was 6.10

I was *amazed* with the installation procedure in 10.04. But was more amazed with the Ubuntu One integration with Rhytmbox. I love listening to music, and love linux. What a great way to contribute to Linux - buy music you love, and in doing so, doing "your bit" for the cause.

I loved the idea so much, I wrote a blog posting about it. Find it here:
Ubuntu One Music Store (http://linuxsoftwareblog.com/?p=478)

Leave any comments you may have on the posting, I'd be interested to see if there is mutual applause for this latest offering, or if I've overlooked any issues?

Thanks,

Rob

Wow, that is great! I love it when people take the time to share their positive experiences. I know the Ubuntu One Team will love reading this.

Cool, I dual boot Fedora 12. I've been to your site before looking for something.

Yes the Ubuntu One team did a great job with the store. They also been having some problems with Ubuntu One in general with this release, but they have been hard at work resolving any problems.

They have a great team. :D

its nice to hear you had a positive experience. ive had one challenge after the other, not that im complaining, thats the nature of the beast.

i agree with you on the store, and in your blog about iphones.
both features are what has made me choose ubuntu over another distro.

now, if i could just get my music to sync faster than 3 days, and get my nvidia driver to work, id be golden!

Thanks for letting us know about this post Rob! I commented on your blog and just wanted to let you know here that we appreciate your contributions to the Ubuntu community and Linux as a whole, regardless of the distro. We're hard at work right now getting Ubuntu One stable and performing better so your post cheers us up as we fight scaling issues. :)

Thank you,

Joshua

now that you have installed ubuntu a deb based OS remember APT not YUM.... Its a dumb joke.

glad you like it and hope you choose to continue to use it. I personally love it and will probably continue to help anyone with questions to the best of my ability....
