Right now I have America's Army version 2.5.0, but it seems as if the latest version is 2.6.0 (from the official website). The problem is, I can't seem to find a place where I can download the linux patch/client. This is problamatic becase there are not many servers up that have 2.5, so I can't really play.

If anyone knows how I could upgrade to the newest version, it would be great.

:) yay, another AA player.

Sadly, America's Army isn't out on 2.6 linux or mac.

The army only released a windows version, and icculus.org ports it over to linux and mac for the community.

Be patient, and soon he will release 2.6.

I was wondering about that a while ago, too.

It'll be nice to see how the new client works.

Alright thanks. The thing was that I haven't played this game in a while, and I noticed there was a new version. I was afraid there wasn't going to be a linux version at all...

Anoyingly the 2.5 servers are quite few, and 2.6 crashes in XP for me

Any updates on this? Word of a 2.6.0 client for Linux? I seem to remember them being released relatively quickly after the Windows client. All I can find now is talk on the AA boards about Linux being 'dropped' - which I find confusing, since I didn't think it was officially supported anyway...

that is a bit P!$$ poor, but i guess icculus has to do what he wants.

Maybe we should get all the Americans on here to phone their local Army Recruitment offices and tell them they WERE going to join up - but since they killed Linux Americas Army they've decided not to join up :) yeah that will work...

You can still play the 2.6 maps "Border" and "Dusk" by following this link for instructions on how to install.

the army dropped support for linux and mac clients, so there will most likely be a 2.6 client, but after that, the guy who does porting does not get paid to port them over anymore so there is likely no more new linux/mac versions

He may release a 2.6 but hes not gonna promise it. Also he did 2.5 for free because they cut funding before so I think we all do owe him a big thanks for giving us a step up for free. So while it does suck its not his fault he needs to eat to and aa wasnt paying the bills and hes got people who will so hes gotta do what hes gotta do
