"Tooltips"

Whenever the mouse is over a post a gigantic tooltip window shows up blocking parts of the screen. Do we really need those things? Couldn't you please switch them of? Thanks in advance.

You can turn them off for your browser - about:config - search for browser.chrome.toolbar_tips toggle the value.

I use them and find them useful ...

Okay thank you, but I use Opera. Any idea how they are called here?

it might be worth a search in this forum - I am knwo that this topic has come up a few times - possibly someone in one of the others used opera

Well, I have found them already. In Opera you also type about:config the addressbar.
Then you go down to chapter User Prefs, which opens a very long list of items. At about 3.4 of that list you will find:
Popup Button Help. Switch it of and those nasty balloons are gone. What a relief.

Thank you again for sending me into the right direction. I never would have thought about finding it in the browser.
