NMS on 10.04

I need an NMS that can ping a handful of devices and email me when they are down for 10.04. I spent all day trying to install 3 different NMS apps and none worked. Two had bad debs and the other only sent me emails when something went down...

Does anyone have a working NMS on 10.04 yet? What did you use?

Did you use the package repository or from source?

Package from the repository, although, I consider myself a Nagios novice so I modified a bunch of it to my liking.
