Hey guys,

Asides from the brightness issues, my UL30a is pretty much perfect under 10.04 with the exception of ... the trackpad.

I realise it's using a mouse driver rather than the (synaptics?) driver that should be used. However, there doesn't seem to be a definitive solution to this from browsing around the forums.

Regardless, in the short term, what I'd really like is the standard ignore-trackpad-whilst-typing behaviour. It's driving me CRAZY!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to emulate this behaviour on this particular model? Or is there any further progress on getting the more fully functioning driver working?

Thanks!

Russ

For reference, I applied the patch outlined here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9175201#post9175201

And... success! I'm running an up-to-date Lucid (amd64) for reference. Good luck for those in a similar boat. I believe the patch writer has submitted it to the powers that be and there's a good possibility it'll be include in the next kernel release (.34). Fingers crossed!

Worked for my with my UL30A-X5! Thanks for the link, I wouldn't have found it otherwise!
