How are the intel iX range cpu's supported by the linux kernel. And if there are problems do you think they will be solved by July.

You get a better response from the kernel mailing list. Info @ http://kernel.org/

Support for the iX features is with the 2.6.33 kernel, and some (most? all? not sure, I dont use iX CPUs) of the iX features are backported to 2.6.32.

IIRC there is still some problems with turboboost on 2.6.33, 2.6.34 might be the kernel to fix that. Or it might not.

If your really worried, you could get an AMD . The chipsets/CPUs work fine, and are better price/performers into the bargin ;)
