hey all, one thing I did notice is that the whole Ubuntu package seemed to be really lacking in extra packages that could be useful. perhaps an extra cd that is optional to ship with it in the future? because being on dialup, makes it very hard to download a tun of software and all that, and it'd just be cool of the developers would be soo nice to put something together like that, whatcha all think?

sweet thanks, yeah I've been using SUSE 10 but it doesn't really appeal to me as much as it used to. I like the community behind Ubuntu. I'll see how good Dapper Drake is first. I don't really like KDE anymore lol. it seems too buggy graphical wise.

It seems that it's a common opinion here that Kubuntu is a bit buggy. I do get my share of Konqueror/Kicker crashes once in a while (maybe twice a day or so :D). But I'm not really sure whether the problem is actually KDE or maybe Kubuntu's KDE, since I haven't tried out any other distro in a long-term basis (used MEPIS and Knoppix Live CD for an hour each)

Anyway, welcome to the community and hope you enjoy your stay! :D

Well, that's something that I can't answer, as I'm also quite behind the news when it comes to Dapper development. :D
