does anyone know where i can find ubuntu 5.10 themes, other than the themes in system--> preferences ?

You could install the art-manager package (i believe thats the correct name) which will load previews of themes, icons, etc for you to download & install if you like. You can find this in Add Applications > Graphics.

ok, how do i get to add applications ? i remember using it a few days ago, now i cant find it ?

there's gnome-art in the repos. type apt-get gnome-art ... you get login screens wallpaper splash screens...........
