I've got a dualscreen setup with one 1280x720 screen and one 1680x1050 screen and the intel x4500hd.

I can only get 1280x720 on the biggest screen and 1024x768 on the other.

Any one who can help me getting the correct resolutions?

TY

Have you tried switching monitor cables the other way around?

That is not possible because on is connected with VGA and the other with a HDMI cable. I think the problem is that Ubuntu can't recognize the VGA screen...

Maybe a VGA to HDMI converter is one solution?

One google search gave me this: Atlona's VGA to HDMI adapter (http://www.engadget.com/2010/02/19/atlonas-vga-to-hdmi-adapter-ditches-the-brick-does-1080p-on-us/).

those converters i've seen are quite expensive. I think it would be better to edit the xorg.conf file but i don't know how to set it up manually
