Hi, I have a friend who has just bought an old Power Book G4 second hand. The reason he has got it cheap is because the H/Drive has died.
He has asked me to see if I can fix it. I have replaced the H/Drive no prob's, but now I find he did not get an OSX Disc with the Power Book. The original owner has lost it somewhere over the last couple of years and is no longer in possession of the disc.
I have phoned Apple support and they want £60 for a replacement disc, due to it being discontinued and no longer supported. But he did say that I could download the disc if I wanted. When I have looked into this. It seems the downloading of the disc is the easy part but you need another Apple computer to actually burn the disc properly for it to work.
So my question is. Can I download and burn the disc with Ubuntu or do I need to find someone else with an Apple to burn the disc for me.
