cant connect using apt-get update

Hello,
Could anyone help me with this sor of problem,i am totally a newbei for linux,

After that message(above),there is an option to close then diplays the problem

i am the above error when am trying to use the update manager

None the less i used sudo apt-get updates
0% [Connecting to au.archive.ubuntu.com (130.95.3.26)]
0% [Connecting to au.archive.ubuntu.com (130.95.3.26)].....

I dont know what is all this going or where am i going wrong.

But i can use the brower or even connect to the fp sites.whats going on!!!!

CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME
