View Full Version : [ubuntu] 10.04 Hard Laggs after some minutes
April 11th, 2010, 12:31 AM
Im using a ATI Radeon HD 4890 with the opensource radeonhd driver and i have a really weird problem with it. After i login everying is fine for about 10 minutes (seems to be random) but then hard laggs start and for example its nearly impossible to scroll in firefox. When i logg off and login again, it works for around 10 minutes again. I used glxgears and when everything is right iu have around 8000 frames / 5 seconds and when the laggs start only about 360 frames / 5 seconds. Im using ubuntu 10.04.
And it is not because of the heat because I can play Crysis in Windows for hours. :(

Have you tried the proprietary driver? If so, and it did'nt work, then I would have to say that it's just a "beta" issue.

Hmm, well, like I said, it could still be a beta issue. Just wait it out unitl the end of the month, and see what happens. I'm sure the Ubuntu programmers will work it out.
