Hi all,
I have been playing Eternal Lands for a couple of years on my Ubuntu 9.10 desktop, currently running 1.9beta. Everything runs fine. I also tried to run eternal lands on my ubuntu 9.10 laptop and everything seems to work except for chat messages do not show up. Server messages do.
I have tried several versions of eternal lands, including the recommended apt-get method from the ubuntu website, the playdeb.net install and the direct download/compile from eternal-lands.com. All exhibit the same behaviour, but only on the laptop.
The laptop is an Acer Aspire 4530 with a dual core athlon 64, 1.5gb ram and an GForce 9100M G running the latest drivers from the hardware manager.
In eternal lands, a blank line is displayed instead of the chat message. I have spent quite a bit of time with someone on the eternal lands forum trying to diagnose the problem, but to no avail. I'm hoping someone here can help.
The eternal-lands forum is here: http://www.eternal-lands.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50922
Thanks!
