Is there a versatile virtual tabletop program out there? I have friends that would like to play turn based games over the net, like Warhammer 40k. We live to far apart to play.
-Thanks

There is a really in-depth one in the repos but I can't remember it's name right now (openRPG I think) which is more complicated then I like. I generally use gametable (http://sourceforge.net/projects/gametable/) which is java based (so it works on almost any OS) and is a very simple system to use. I combine that with skype for online tabletop gaming.

I believe Vassal (http://www.vassalengine.org/) has a Linux client. Plus if you search, there is a WH40k mod for it. It's been shut down recently by GW, so finding it might prove a bit difficult, but it is a very popular system for online 40k games.

Yes OpenRPG is the name of the tabletop software. I'm pretty sure you can do Warhammer 40K with it, I never had though. Did D&D on it once.

I don't know if you have found one you like or not but I made one online that you can use with Linux.

Tell me what you think. If you come up with something you would like on it just let me know. I am still in the middle of making it so new features are coming all the time.
