Hi
I've got wine 1.1.41 installed on my 9.10 Karmic.
I've installed BF2142 - it now appears on the Application >>> Wine >>> (so on) menu. I chose Windows 2003 as suggested in several other forum postings.
When I try to launch it, the DVD spins up (so it's seeing my drive), the screen resolution changes to a really low one (800 x 600) then .... nothing.
The launch bmp flashes up, the program appears briefly in the lower panel then disappears. The disc times-out spinning after 20 seconds or so. All I am left with is a changed display resolution.
I have a relatively new machine (quad core) with masses of RAM (6 GB). BF2142 ran OK on it in it's life as a Win7 machine.
I have a NVIDIA graphics card with the proprietory NVIDIA X driver 185.18.36 working.
Any nice person point me in the correct direction????
(I have also tried running BF2142 in VirtualBox XP windows with the same result (except display resolution stays the same).)
