Hi, everyone!

I've recently installed Ubuntu 9.10 on a PowerBook g4 (powerpc 1.3 ghz, 1 gb RAM). I am AMAZED at the improvement in speed over the Mac OS.

I have installed gnash (swfdec didn't have any effect at all. with gnash, at least there is a box where videos are supposed to be) and also ffmpeg.

now, i am completely aware that it may not be possible to get flash to work with my setup, but i am having trouble knowing definitively wether i am doing something wrong or if this simply will not work. there's a lot of posts/sites/comments out there and, being a first-time user, i'm not sure where i'm at.

For example, one page states that 6.10 is the last Ubuntu version that will work on PowerPC. Yet, I wasn't able to get 6.10 working correctly at all and I was able to install a 9.10 version listed under "powerpc downloads" that works perfectly. hmm...

I really appreciate any help. I am really falling in love with Ubuntu and hope I can contribute to this community in some way in the near future. Thanks!!!

clive is broken.

cclive and abby are broken after a youtube change or something. See the patch or wait for the update.

or try compiling gnash

Did you install just gnash or the mozilla-plugin-gnash?

Just an update on this thread: I tried pretty much all the suggestions/comments/guides that I could find here and elsewhere on the internet. Nothing worked as far as getting flash to work within any browser.

I was, however, able to download FLV's and play with VLC media player. Thanks!
