I'm not a Linux guru, and I'm not really sure how to set default programs. I e-mailed myself a .swf file, and I installed a .swf player in the Ubuntu Software Center, but when I opened the file, it tries to run it with Movie Player, and obviously, fails. How do I make it so that when I open the file, it runs it with the .swf file player I installed?

I HAVE FIGURED IT OUT. WHENEVER I POST A QUESTION I FIGURE IT OUT RIGHT AFTER I POST IT!!!! :/

Right click on the file and choose "properties". Then on the "Open With" tab pick the application you want as default, or if it's not listed use the command for that application.

I didn't notice till too late you have already found the answer.

Perhaps you should create a thread for the purpose of posting all your problems. Then you could post your solutions and no one would need ask for help on those topics again.
