Has anyone tried to install Debian alongside Kubuntu/Ubuntu? Is it workable? I tried, but couldn't figure out the partition resizing. So I gave up. I ended up removing Kubuntu, installing Debian, but it had to be tweaked beyond my technical knowhow, so I reverted to Kubuntu.

Kubuntu detected all hardware on my Dell Latitude D610 running an ATI Radeon X600 card. It replicated Windows' display configuration. It even detected immediately the built-in wireless card that ships with the laptop.

After all this, what advantage is there of using Debian, especially if Kubuntu accesses the same software repositories as Debian.
