open mac back in ubuntu remix

Hi,

i'm a mac user and i recently got a samsung netbook. i just installed ubuntu remix and i'm trying to access my mac back up files. I use time machine back up my files.

I can open most of my folders but some of them appear as text files and zero size. Is there any way to get access and open the video files on the ubuntu?
