Hello Forum members,

i run a 17" Macbook Pro (unibody) and installed Ubuntu 9.10 on it following the official guide. According to the article the brightness adjustments work out of the box. Currently everything runs thanks to the article except the screen brightness controls. When i press the brightness key on my keyboard a brightness bar pops up on the top right corner and very slowly adjusts itself but it never dims or brightens the screen. I loaded the nvidia_bl module by adding it to the /etc/modules file.

Its my only missing link, i am thankful for all help!

you might want to install the mbp-nvidia-bl-dkms from the Mactel PPA repository, I posted how to that in another thread:

Thank you for your help, i did read the other thread and already tried that :KS But i am going to put a hold on this issue, i am currently working on a sql database and am under time pressure. Do you have another idea on how i can solve this issue? Please don't be offended if it takes me a day to reply.

Thank you

Florian
