Dear all,

I try 4 fresh installs of ubuntu server 9.10 and 10.4 | 64&32 bit..
All of them support wn111v2 .. but i always see wlan0 IEEE 802.11bg and not N..
Is there a solution to use this adapter in N speed?

Thanks,
Aloa

I was googling around for this as well and this is the only thread I could find describing the same problem as I'm having.

I have a Netgear WN111v2 and am running Ubuntu 10.4 since 2 days. Before (on Karmic Koala) this worked fine, but currently the USB adapter is only listed as the below :

wlan1 IEEE 802.11bg ESSID:"XXXXX"
Mode:Managed Frequency:2.417 GHz Access Point: XXXXX
Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power=27 dBm
Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off
Power Management:off
Link Quality=69/70 Signal level=-41 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

*-network
description: Wireless interface
physical id: 1
logical name: wlan1
serial: XXXXX
capabilities: ethernet physical wireless
configuration: broadcast=yes ip=1.2.3.4 multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11bg

I have a Linksys WRT320n which together with the WN111v2 on Windows (dual boot on the same machine) works fine. Anyone have any ideas on how to get wireless-N speeds out of the adapter?

Thanks
