i have a fresh install vista on an hp pavilion dv5 laptop.then i made a partition for ubuntu (which is drive D:). i just wanna try it out,and then uninstall it. now the problem is that when i delete the partition of the ubuntu using vista my vista wont boot, instead i get an error and the grub rescue terminal appears. so i restart the lappy went to system recovery and then the grub rescue terminal appears saying that my vista partition doesnt exist. so i reinstalled ubuntu just to boot and use vista. now ive googled for tips and solutions (i dont have a vista cd but it is embedded in my hd) and the best thing to do was to have a super grub disk. now the problem is i dont really know how to work around this. can anyone with experience in super grub disk fill me out on what to do first. i still have the Vista/Ubuntu dual boot.
thanks!!!

Doesn't the lappie come with the option to burn a copy of the Vista recovery disk?

hello there coolsonyeh, currently i am using vista/ubuntu dual boot. i think there is an option to install ubuntu inside windows wherein you don't need a dedicated partition for ubuntu. this is what i like about the feature in ubuntu. i have used ubuntu 5 or 6(i think) but i was not able to explore these feature, just the live cd. i am also a newbie in ubuntu but i have tried using ubuntu release 5 and 6 but did explore it well. so i think you should try using ubuntu inside windows.

thanks for the insight sir gariang. but i really want to have ubuntu on separate partition so i could really explore it.

Dati kasi dual boot with XP using wubi. NTFS pa sya so what I did was install ubuntu and deleted XP partition all together. So ext3 na sya.
