I have a weird issue with my Ubuntu 9.10 Desktop. It gets a IP address via dhcp just fine. I can ping the router, but not the DNS IP address. Not a problem with router or net connection because I shut off the wireless on my Macbook and plug it into the same cable as my Desktop and it connects to internet just fine. I don't have any special firewall rules, no mac filtering, and no firewall software on the desktop computer. Any ideas?

So the gateway address was set wrong in the dhcp configuration. Mac OS could compensate with the error, very interesting.
