Hi I just installed my ubuntu breezy 5.10, I tried a few times today to reload and update my repositories (just changed the setting to multiverse) but failed. Can anyone help me?

PS: below is the message came out after i failed to update:

Could not download all repository indexes

The repository might be no longer available or could not be contacted because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your network connection and the correct writing of the repository address in the preferences.

I don't think its the server, as I have both a Mac and a PC on the same network, and the PC gets the same message, but the Mac doesn't.

Unless, of course, its a PC repository thats down. Hmmm

I actually solved my issue simply by changing my IP to Static. Simple fix that took me a month to solve. This actually solved two issues, as I couldn't network without installing Samba & NFS, which I hadn't been able to do. Now I have an OldWorld Mac, and a PC talking Penguin.

I have half a dozen more issues to work on, like getting my OS X Mac to communicate with the linux side. Sound cards, video cards, etc. Sure is fun though.

hi rick,

how to change to static? I'm using a d link LAN (http://www.dlink.com.sg/products/?pid=456) & Aztech ASDL router (http://www.aztech.com/prod_adsl_dsl600ew.html). I need to disable IPv6 to use the internet. Pls help. Thanks :)

I have the same problem only with an update to dapper, can anyone tell me the right addresses of the repositories to put into sources.list?

Thanks

Jim
