Kopete not connecting with gtalk

hello all,
I am using Gnome in ubuntu 9.10 and just installed kopete....just wanted to try it ; have used pidgin before...can anyone tell the correct gtalk connection settings for kopete
mine say:
connection problem with jabber server talk.google.com
there was a connection error :connection refused
and can anyone tell why pidgin and such cilents need such of hell tweaks...?

Hi,
I don't chat but I saw your post and decided to give it a try. I was able to connect to Google Talk by creating a Jabber account using my Gmail email address: username@gmail.com
Note that some users may need to use username@googlemail.com instead.

Well thats quite obvious man....i told i have used pidgin before..but the thing is i am unable to get those settings work with kopete ..u get my point?and yeah kopete uses the system proxy settings i suppose?

I just had to enter my email and password using the default settings,
