I have a Samsung nc10 that has Ubuntu 9.10 with all the updates on. However it can't connect to any wireless networks if the connection is less than approximately 90%. However once it is connected I can use it at any signal strength until it losses connection then I have to go back to router to reconnect.
I have wicd as my network manager and it says that it "fails to obtain an ip address" when the signal strength is less than 90%. Also I have upgraded the wireless card to a intel 5300 card to get better range and future speed. The router is a netgear DG843G
Has anybody else experienced this, if so how do you fix it as its extremely annoying having to go to the router every time I want to connect.
