View Full Version : [ubuntu] Can't connect to wifi on KDE desktop, but can on Gnome

So, after installing the KDE desktop environment, and switching over to it, I can only connect to the inter via ethernet. I checked the hardware drivers window, and there are no drivers available....

same thing happens to me... although i could connect the first time i tried, from the second attempt on i haven't been able to do so
what could cause this?

Bump. Same problem. Ubuntu 10.04, Dell Mini 10v, broadcom chipset. Works though not beautifully, in Gnome; won't connect from KDE.

same problem. anyont got any solutions, not internet on kde, gnome is spot on?

There is something wrong with knetwork manager, least there was on mine. The fix I found was to remove knetwork manager with synaptic then add nm-applet to my start up scripts in Kde, after a reboot it works fine with Gnome and KDE. There is more info on http://kubuntuforums.net/
