View Full Version : [ubuntu] add/remove application

how do i install add/remove application.? I went to the software centre and doubleclicked the application but it is not installing. In the file menu i can't click it. no action is taking place,it isn'y even highlighting.(In the soft ware centre it is written as application is not provided.(the screeshot is given).pl. help.

Go:
System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager
It may ask you for your password, if so type it in.
In the quick search box type what you want to find, for example, "2vcard"
Type it into the search box.
Click on the tick box to the left of the program name & description, then click "Apply"

you can also try updating with update manager in system and see if that will do it

Hii! It might seem awkward , but why do you need a add/remove application at all. You can do whatever you need with synaptic or the software centre. I guess there is no need for add/remove application in karmic at least
