Must I wait an hour to see my threads listed on the main?

Hi there:

I dont know if Im the only one with this minor nuisance:

If i write a new thread from mu ubuntu 9.10 laptop, I have to wait an hour to see any new thread I write listed on my personal list of threads, however, that doesnt happen if I write a thread from a windows-xp based laptop

Is this normal?

This is a busy forum, and threads can disappear quite quickly.

Everytime someone posts in, or starts a new thread, the thread ends up on the top of the subforum view, as more and more posts are made, this then gets shuffled down the queue.

Also please be patient, this isn't real-time support, and if anyone knows the answer to one of your questions, they will most likely reply.
