minimize firfoxe or Terminal in ubuntu studio 9.10

hi guys i used ubuntu desktop then now i changed to ubuntu studio 9.10 when i open firefox or terminal after i minimize them i can not see them them to open them again like in windows or other ubuntu you could see them on the taskbar below but not on ubuntu studio , can you help me or tell me if i am doing anything wrong thank you

Ran into this myself.

Right click in the top panel - choose Add to Panel

Scroll to the bottom and choose Window List

That puts a list of all open windows in the top panel

This works for 10.04

Or right click on the top panel and choose new panel so that you have a bottom panel where you can add a windows list (or whatever)

I ran into this problem using Ubuntu Studio 11.04. Following your "Add To Panel" advice resolved the issue. Thanks!
