I've set up an HTPC system for my family with Kubuntu.
One of the things they like the most about it is the games. They don't have to find a CD and stick it into a console, just choose the game, and grab a keyboard/mouse/remote and start playing.
But now they would like to see some more games. I was looking through the games in the repos and there are a lot of them.
I need some suggestions. What are some of your favorite Ubuntu games?
I've got Wormux, Tux Racer, Chromium-bsu, and sdl-ball so far.

What are specs of your HTPC? I am planning to build one really soon too.
You want just some simple games?
I love Wesnoth, I am not sure if it really fit to be played on HTPC.

core 2 quad @ 2.5 Ghz, 4GB Ram, onboard intel graphics (seem like pretty great graphics for onboard intel, actually), Gigabit ethernet, 320GB sata for /, 1TB sata raid 1 for /home
I love Wesnoth! Don't know why I haven't added it yet. Also adding globulation 2.
The games don't necessarily have to be "simple", just fun.

Here are my suggestions:
If you want something that has insane graphics, is slightly complex, and is crazy fun, then I would suggest trying out the Spring engine with its mods. You can check it out with this link right here (http://springrts.com/).
Also, Wesnoth is really good as well. I have played it, and enjoyed it quite a bit.
If you like combat flight simulators, gl-117 is the game for you. The graphics are well done for flight simulators I have played. Not only that, but the dogfights are really good, as you only have so many missiles so you have to resort to cannon.

There are thousands of games out there which are free software and will run natively on Ubuntu, and many Windows games can be run using an emulator. There are even emulators available for classic games consoles. Whether you enjoy card games or shoot 'em ups, there's something for everyone.

Would any of these games listed above work well on an Acer Aspire One?
I tried the TuxRacer (the snow one) and the FPS was fairly low. Unplayable and not fun in my opinion (though I'm sure it'd be fun if the computer could run it). Any suggested games for Acer Aspire One that wouldn't lag too much?

Is there anywhere a list and maybe reviews or even screenshots of games that you can get from Ubuntu software center?.
Found some real gems there like B.A.L.L.Z and this allegator game that is in hilarious retro monochrome colors. But it is taking too long to wade through all the games as there are loads of them. I could really use some help from interneeeetsssz. :)
