I have installed for the first time Kubuntu 9,10, tested kde, looks fine, but Im a gnome fan, so I simply logged in gnome, but Im missing most of gnome aplications, which I can hanlde, because I can always get them, but I have problem with themes, I used ubuntu 9.04, and themes looked alot better. See this photo:

now this is ugly, something is missing, and I do not know what....

Now can I solve this via terminal, or synaptic, or must I install ubuntu 9.10, and If I have to install it, must I format this partition, or can I simply tun over it ?

thanks for any help..:D

You could install the ubuntu-desktop package. That will get you all of the themes and applications that come with Ubuntu, basically you would have both Ubuntu and Kubuntu installed on your machine.

You can install the themes afterwards.

it could be that gtk2-engines/-* are missing, try searching them and install them in via synaptic or cli,,,

say,

sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines
