hello all.

i downloaded and installed Ubuntu 2 days ago. I had been running Xandros for about a week previous to that. But after reading up on the various distros and especially after reading the Ubuntu mainpage, i knew i wanted to try this one out.

I did have a few gliches installing Ubuntu and some software. of course i'm very much a n00b to linux. and i fairly easily solved my problems with the help of the forums and starter guide.

I am so impressed with this OS! It is so vastly superior to the other Linux distros. I'm so impressed by the philosphy you developers are promoting. A big thank you to the developers and programmers et al. =) i'm telling all my friends about it. hopfully i can convince a couple to make the switch from microsoft.
