Ok this is an interesting problem I've never seen before..

The top panel on my desktop, when I first boot my machine doesn't snap to the top of the screen. It sits about an inch below.

I have to go into Panel Properties and choose expand to make it snap to the top. Then I de-select expand and everything is back to the way I like it.

Here's a pic of how it looks before and after.

Any ideas how I could fix this?

The next time the panel is not correct,
right-click on one of the hide arrows and pick "Properties"
Temporarily uncheck "Show hide buttons" and hit "OK"

Now the hide buttons should become a small "grip" area for moving a floating panel.
Click on this area and drag the panel to the top edge, it should lock into place.
Then right-click this grip and "Properties" to turn your hide arrows back on.

This worked... Again, thank you.
