How do I run compiz?

I just wanna know where I can find the icon to run compiz, or at the very least, how to run it.

the basic settings are in system > perfences > appearance , click the visual effects tab (i beileve thats the name)

you can see the basic 3 there

the better program to manage all effects is the Compiz Config Settings Manager (or CCSM)
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

I would like to find some GOOD documentation on using Compiz. I have looked at all the different settings screens but have no idea of what settings to use.

I had some effects working on my desktop but I have screwed them up and no I cannot even change workspaces.
