Have you installed ubuntu-restricted-extras already? If not, type in a Terminal:
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extrasNote: You can also copy and paste the command
After that you should be able to view the FLV video file on your default player.

the plugin it tries to download can also be found in add/remove. just run a search for gstreamer and install the required one.
or like zeroseven0183 said just enable the restricted extras

I agree. VLC Player is a good choice.
You can download it from the Ubuntu Software Center.

You should be able to play the FLV files on your default movie players if you get the restricted extras (very recommended).
If you dont want to do that I would also recommend VLC player.
It is a good movie, video, and dvd player
