I am looking to build a workstation/gaming computer and a dedicated server. I wanted to build two separate boxes, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice/experience/opinions to just build a single box, with a faster cpu, more memory, and run ubuntu for my workstation/gaming OS, and then just run a dedicated virtualized server on top.

I appreciate any advice and/or opinions.

Peace.

Honestly, I'd just build a different box for each. If you're going to be gaming on the workstation, you can sometimes have games crash the system; which means also bringing down your server.
