Ultimate desktop environment

Hello Friends...
I am using ubuntu 9.10.. I want cool graphics environment..
Can anyone suggest me how can I get the high-end graphics that can be applied on the desktop...
I have 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4870.

make sure you have installed you graphic cards driver first

Also consider installing KDE:


sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop

The default theme is kinda lame, but with some tweaks you can make it look awesome...
