View Full Version : De-fragmenting free space - xfs

OK - I now have a cron job running xfs_fsr nightly to defrag my file system.

However, what I have read, suggests that xfs_fsr does not de fragment the free space. Obviously that means that new recordings must find space to fit in the fragmented empty part of the drive. Now the drive has filled up again (I have specified 20GB Free space) I am once more getting picture and sound glitches.

Is there any way of de-fragmenting the empty space of an xfs file system?

Thanks.
