The original Warty Login "Circle of Friends"

Hey all,

Does anyone still have the old Warty version of the "Circle of Friends" login theme? Not the wallpaper, the login theme. I don't mean to create yet another discussion on the topic... I just would like it for myself as I liked it just fine. If anyone has it and would be willing to email it to me, PM me or provide a link.

I mean the "semi-nude" version. I'm running Dapper now and they long since dumped that GDM theme.

I have some warty CDs, if the file is on there I can take a look. What would be the filename?

Yes it was. The same semi-nude/nude models as the original Warty wallpaper packs.

Well... it would have most likely been included in the deb "gdm" or "gdm-themes" but taking a look at packages.ubuntu.com and using "Warty" it's even been removed from the latest packages there so you'd need to have an older CD to find it I would imagine. Still, I'd appreciate it if you could look.

There's nothing in gdm_2.6.0.3.yadda.yadda.deb and in the gnome.themes it's just the ones selectable after you've logged in. The login theme is before gdm loads, no?
Is there a way to search within archives, and what's the filename?
I can't even find that circle of friends picture on this system, but it is there.

My CDs are original shipit ones, so there's a chance.

Hmm... i found these in ubuntu-artwork...

Yup.. that's them. There should be an entire theme in there with that... an entire directory in the deb. It would extract to /usr/share/gdm/themes/

The files I posted were:

and:
/usr/share/gdm/themes/HumanCircle/background.jpg

Here's a list of what's in there:

Ah, the memories. I think it's a shame the original circle of friends no longer is a part of the Ubuntu artwork. Someone should put it up on gnome-look as an installable GDM theme. :)
