Thanks a lot for your google search, perhaps this link is also useful:

Tastiera fuori dall'ambiente grafico

#CONFFILE=${CONFDIR}/${CONFFILEROOT}.${EXT}.gz
CONFFILE=/usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwerty/ibook-it.map

sudo /etc/init.d/keymap.sh restart

I'll try as soon as possible.

I'll try as soon as possible.
I didn't install ibook-it.map I just set in System ->Preference->Keyboard, on Layouts tab:
Keyboard model: Generic 101-key PC
Layout: Italian

It work fine with my iBook G4 933mhz Hoary 5.04.
To get: # @[ ] use cmd (Apple) key instead of Alt-gr key.

It work also on Live CD.

Hello everyone,

I've got the same problem for my Ibook Se 466 graphite.

I've found the solution:

in System ->Preference->Keyboard, on Layouts tab I've selected:
macintosh - No decription

Layout:
Italian

So now my qzerty italian keyboard (also called Olivetti type) the one with M/m besides L/l works properly.
