How do I reactivate nouveau?

[edit]
I guess this is the cause.

The following packages have been kept back:
linux-backports-modules-nouveau-lucid-generic

Yes, wait that both nouveau packages are ready to update.

no problem with nouveau except that new kernel 32.15 still work with nouveau-32.14, still waiting for backports-modules-nouveau-32.15.

So, thus and therefore, if I am seeing thing s "A-OK" with out these backports, I can eliminate them later when they do arrive? :)

I tried installing from synaptic but I guess not all the dependencies were there yet. So wait till tomorrow then?

Yeh i cant boot into X with -15 kernel and im guessing its because of this. No problem with the -14 kernel.

So, it is okay that I installed all the available distribution updates and just wait until we are able to check this one and download, then?

I just did a clean install on one of my machines and just kind of let it run while I was doing other things. It installed all available updates except for this one of course...Thanks!

I installed the update thinking it wouldn't hurt anything, so for the time being I am using the nvidea drivers... Oh well, these things happen. :)

So, do we just install that one when it becomes available?

Yes, that should get things working again.

Okay, I will just standby then. It is just kinda annoying seeing that greyed out update everytime you check. :-)

Guys, please help me. I don't get the nouveau driver listed in hardware drivers, and I can't even install linux-backports-modules-nouveau-lucid-generic, because it can't be found in any repository. I'm running Lucid beta.

Am I missing anything?
